(More customer reviews)For those of you who bought this item and were disappointed, I assure you that confusion may have led you to believe it doesn't work. Allow me to give you some simple instructions:
1.Make sure you are plugging it into the right place on you TV. This may sound stupid, but some people may not realize that there are composite IN as well as OUT spots on some TVs. You want to use the composite (video/audio) IN.
2.Find the right setting for your specific TV. As you would change the INPUT setting when using a DVD player, you would do the same for your ipod. It will most likely be either VIDEO 1 or VIDEO 2.
3.IPOD SETTINGS: From the main menu, go to VIDEOS > VIDEO SETTINGS. Select TV OUT and make sure that you select ON. Make sure that TV SIGNAL is on NTSC if you are in the US (most European countries use PAL). If you would like to use the WIDESCREEN (16:9) option, select ON. For Standard TV (4:3), select OFF.
For those of you are thinking about buy this item, I was quite satisfied. The cable was very inexpensive compared to what I would have bought directly from Apple; the cable arrived promptly and in brand new condition; the quality of the video was perfect for what I required.
Hopefully you find this useful. Good luck and enjoy!
