I consider myself to be a very easy going person when it comes to being critical about video. Kind of old fashioned and most times if it can be seen on my 35 inch Sony, its cool.
However, i received a 5th generation Ipod Nano for Christmas. This changed things a bit.
I was also given a 30 dollar itunes gift card.
Well, i decided that it was time to jump into the world of electronic video download.
Now the problem was getting the file from itunes, to my external HD, to my Nano, and then finally to my television.
I saw nothing but issues heading my way. Well this was to much of a personal computer challenge to let slide. I purchased the Griffin component version cables from Amazon.
Without hesitation i opened the box, plugged the cables in to my HD inputs and the moment of truth was upon me. Before i get to the outcome, i want you to know that the movie i chose to test and download was actually a classic. "In The Good Old Summertime" with Judy Garland and Van Heflin.
I chose this first because I love the movie and second because if the quality of a 50 year old movie was good, i would realize that anything made after that would be excellent.
Ok, the net result of my efforts:
Pressed play and the movie just popped onto the screen with all the brilliance and vibrance of a dvd.
Needless to say, I was very very pleased and surprised.
The colors, audio, and image were all top shelf.
The cables themselves are all very well constructed.
All color coded and long enough to allow you to place the ipod on a nearby table while viewing.
The Griffin cable set also comes with a usb ac charger that will charge your Ipod while you are viewing. Very important I feel.
So, with that in mind, I feel that you will not be dissapointed with this purchase.
What you read about the Griffin product being superior to the apple product may have some truth in the other reviews however i cannot compare via personal experience unless apple wants to send me a set to make that decision.
Im on a budget and to save fifteen or twenty bucks on a luxury purchase is what i have to do.
