(More customer reviews)I bought this to add an auxiliary input to my stock Honda Civic car stereo. Of course I had to buy a separate converter $50 to plug into the back of the stereo in the cd changer input. Then I simply plugged this into the adapter giving me a place to plug in my mp3 player.
The silver ring you see in front actually unscrews. I threw away the large black piece and drilled the appropriately sized hole where I wanted the mp3 input mounted and placed it there and screwed the silver ring back on the outside to securely hold it in place. Now, I have a permanent mp3 input where I want it and it only took about 15 minutes to put it in. You don't have to be a stereo expert to do this and it looks very nice and professional. I recommend this product if you don't plan on replacing your OEM stereo with an aftermarket one.
