(More customer reviews)All I wanted to do was use my iPhone 4 to stream Netflix into the minivan's entertainment system. This cable fit the intended purpose as expected, so I recommend it. I'm sure the kids will now have a much better time on long road trip this summer.
First I set the van's audio and video inputs. Then I plugged this in and ran the Netflix App, after that I hit play and everything was good to go. Very easy.
There are only three minor situations to note:
1. Blister packs stink, don't expect this one to be any different... don't cut your cable.
2. The composite inputs are not color coded on the outside, but within the plug. So look down the barrel of the plug where the pin protrudes, then you will see the color red or yellow. This might be a bit confusing for the kids at first, but if your aware, no problem. Low light might cause problems as well.
3. The cable does not come with a usb/ac adapter... just grab the adapter that came with your iPhone, your going to need to keep your phone charged on long trips.
I looked as some other similar cables, but those cost as much as $20 more. I don't see any reason to go with those instead of this one. This cable has worked out great, plus it is an event better value with Amazon Prime as you get free and fast shipping.
I can't comment on durability at this point, but it looks like it is going to work out fine.
