(More customer reviews)So after the reviews and searching online, I came across this. Like everyone else, I didn't want to pay $40 for the dealer one. I went and ordered from x-pert-s out of Canada. I was really excited when I got it and tried it out immediately in my 2011 Hyundai Sonata. Well, it did not work like the others at all. I have a 5th Gen iPod which seems to be the oldest version it will use. It would not work on the screen and though it played music, I had no control over anything via the car console or my iPod. I was totally put off by spending the cash and nothing to show.
I did try it with my wife's iPhone 3G and it would not come on the screen (said "Connected" only), but was able to control it from the phone itself. Much more than I could do with my iPod.
I was able to get a cord from my dealer and it worked better than this ever did. Honestly, not sure what type of iPod/iPhones the others used, but for a 5th Gen iPod, it was a loss of cash.
