This product perfectly charges iphone 4 and allows audio play with your car's aux-in.
My set up goes like this: I'm streaming Pandora via AT&T 3G from my iPhone 4, which is plugged into a "2-in-1 Aux Audio Sync Cable" which splits into a USB out which is plugged into a "USB car charger", and the other split is a "3.5mm line out" which is plugged into the "Ground Loop Isolator" which is plugged into my Toyota Camry Hybrid's aux-in port.
Without the Ground Loop Isolator, there is a discernible, audible whitenoise hum/buzz. The isolator 100% eliminates all traces of this, leaving just pure and clear audio to stream through.

3.5mm Audio Line Out + 30pin Usb Dock Cable for Iphone Ipod Review

Close, so close. Works, yes, but not 100% perfect. When hooked up to my headphones amp, you can hear weird digital noise when switching tracks. With my other connection options, there is no interference. Many may not notice this. If stuff like this doesn't bother you, should be fine, but think twice if buying for hi-fi application.
Having said that. It works great in my wife's caddy which has a USB port and 3.5 jack. She can now use the steering wheel controls to control her iPhone.

I don't know why products like this are so hard to find. I searched for quite a while for a simple way to connect my iPod to my car stereo's aux in via the dock connector/line out, and finally settled on this one. It does the trick, and unlike others I've owned, it has a dock connector that's just as slim as the original Apple USB dock connector. That means it's much easier to connect to your iPod when it's in a case. For that reason, I prefer it to the retractable Zip Linq cable I had, which had a thick dock connector and which also happened to break on me after a few months' use.
I can't claim to be an audiophile, but the sound quality is flawless to my ears, and *much* better than I've ever gotten out of a cassette adapter or FM transmitter. I've had the cable for about 3 months, and I'm perfectly satisfied. About the only recommendation I'd make to the manufacturer is to offer the cable in a shorter length.
