(More customer reviews)I bought this unit because it has a cord on the 12 volt end so that it can be plugged into our tightly quartered cigarette lighter outlet. It also meets my power needs. Be aware, this is really only an 80 watt unit that handles 100 watts for no more than a couple of minutes. At 80 watts it will draw about 6 to 7 amps from the lighter, or accessory outlet so be sure the outlet can handle it. Our new car has three such outlets but only the lighter outlet is really up to the task (15 amps or about 15A * 14V = 210 watts). The others are fine for devices that draw only a little power like a GPS, cell phone, MP3 player, etc.
The unit has a small fan inside that comes on when the electronics inside get too warm. Be sure not to block the vent slots in the case, especially the circular ones on the bottom since this is the only intake for the fan. I don't find the fan too loud, being just barely perceptible when it comes on while I'm driving. Mine feels solid, well made, is simple to use and does what it's suppose to.

(More customer reviews)I like to watch movies on my iPod Touch on long flights, so after looking into a number of dedicated iPod battery solutions that cost $75 or more, I found this nifty solution for a fraction of the cost. Since I wasn't sure how much extra juice I would need for video playback for up to ten hours, I picked up three of these when they were on sale for $15, figuring that would be enough to do the job.
I ran the fully charged iPod with one of these batteries connected from the outset (as opposed to waiting for the iPod to drain and then recharge it later), and, surprisingly, made it through an entire long haul flight from L.A. to Tokyo with only one battery. In fact, there was still plenty of charge left on the iPod when I landed, so the other two batteries turned out to be unnecessary. Since these Lithium-Ion batteries are so lightweight, it didn't matter anyway -- I see no downside to a little overkill when it comes to reserve power. The only minor gripe I have is that it's easy to accidentally hit the ON/OFF switch when stuffing these into my bag, which seems to allow them to discharge more rapidly over time. A little care when packing should prevent this.
This product is an example of a simple, elegant solution that's also very low cost compared with dedicated recharging products. I'd recommend investing in a couple of these to anyone who depends on portable devices that can be charged via USB.

Duracell My Pocket Charger for Ipod and BlackBerry, 2 Pack Review

(More customer reviews)Stumbled across this in a Costco, had no idea that it actually existed. The case says "iPod," but things that work with iPods frequently work with iPhones...
I used the phone to search online to find any reference to this thing working with the iPhone, and found absolutely nothing. I checked the store's return policy and chanced it.
Success.
If you plug it into your phone while you're listening to the iPod portion of your phone, it will think you've docked it and try to route the audio through the plug.
It will tell you "This product is not designed to work with the iPhone" or some such message asking you if you want to go to airplane mode. If you click no, the phone displays the "I'm charging" battery and begins to fill.
All of this on a product that isn't even officially supported. I'm sure it will work just as well with my iPod, which is supported.
One star taken away for the unfortunate glitch of not working with rechargable batteries.
